Heads UP! for a winter storm this weekend- updated 5pm Friday

Updated 5pm Friday, Dec 13, 2013…..
With maps of the 5pm forecast snow amounts for the northeast from DC to Boston to Buffalo.

Upgrade to Winter Storm Warning for the north and west suburbs of New York City…
NWS not impressed that this would be a tremendous storm, but it’ll be bad enough, with snow starting with some light accumulation Saturday morning, getting going by late afternoon and heaviest after dark Saturday night, just before changing to freezing rain/ice pellets and then to all rain, ending Sunday morning.

You won’t want to be out in the weather overnight Saturday/early Sunday morning.

The storm may end quickly Sunday morning, then much colder to start the week.
