Clouds make a beautiful sunrise, but in this case they blocked the Sun, which was being partially eclipsed by the Moon at sunrise, so I didn’t see see the eclipse!

Look at this photo, a mirage, where the lighter-colored sky is below, its light bent so much that it appears as a line of brightness under the darker land. This is caused by the large temperature difference between the warm water and the cold air.
The lighthouse is across Long Island Sound from my location in Rye, the east coast of Westchester County. Notice that the light looks like it’s reflected in the water, but it’s actually a mirage, not a reflection in the water.
