Milky Way from the Summer Star Party

Here’s a mosaic of the Milky Way from overhead down to the Sagittarius star clouds just above the horizon at the bottom.

I used my photos from my Canon XS with my new 50mm F2 lens, 15 second exposures at ISO 400.

It gives a reasonable impression of the wonderful view we had of the Milky Way as seen from the Rockland Astronomers Summer Star Party in the dark skies of the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts.

I think there is a line of ‘double stars’ where the photomerge didn’t quite line the photos up correctly; otherwise, I think it did quite nicely.
