Today (Saturday), a cold front lingers over the eastern US, bringing waves of light snow showers Saturday morning up the east coast. Less than 1/2 inch of snow expected.
Then the next story is when a strong upper air wave hits the cold front and explosively forms a storm Saturday night into Sunday morning off the coast off Cape Cod. It looks a little late for the NYC/NJ area, but eastern Connecticut and eastern Long Island may get 2 to 4 inches of snow.
The southern branch of the jet stream has many more waves upstream that will affect us over the next two weeks – so watch out for more winter storms to come!
