The NWS is looking at a freezing rain event for Monday morning, becoming all rain by mid-morning or afternoon.
The good news that that the freezing rain is where and when the rain is lightest, so the salt-spreaders may be able to keep the roads in good shape.
The bad news is that if the rain is moderate to heavy and temperatures rise to the mid-40s as expected, flooding will be possible, aided by melting snow and runoff blocked by the piles of snow.
The NWS has a eye out for a possible storm Wednesday/Thursday that is looking more likely now, with a mainly snow event – but light snow, perhaps mixing with rain only at the shoreline.
Then Saturday/Sunday looking like a snow event, but way to far out to talk about how much snow or when the snow will occur. The forecast models vary on when the elements that make the storm happen will get here.
Winter has finally arrived. Just when many of us thought would could be done with winter amd move on to Spring.
