For the NYC metro and surrounding area, look for the precip to break out as a period of heavy-looking snow around mid-afternoon on Wednesday, with strong winds and intense wind gusts to over 50 MPH following soon afterwards, into tonight. The east-southeast wind off the water will bring warmer air and change the snow to rain overnight, except for well inland from the coast.
Check your local forecast for details and forecasts of the timing of the snow, rain and wind.
On Thursday, the winds and rain diminish.
The next storm is forecast to pass southeast of the our coast on Saturday. If we get any precip, it will be snow, because we’ll be so far into the cold air.
