Heads UP! for heavy rain and strong winds Friday morning

This is a strong storm moving through the Great Lakes and spinning off a second storm over the mid-Atlantic states, with the heaviest rain and winds 20 mph gusting to 35 or more the eastern US, about 4 to 10am for the NYC area, earlier to the south and later to the north.
THEN
The combined storms push a strong cold front through the east coast Friday morning, announcing its arrival with thunderstorms, then the rain changes to snow in western New York with some snow flurries later for most areas well inland.
Then lake-effect snow on Saturday for interior and western New York State.

Just to give a general idea as to temperatures for Christmas Day, here’s a map with the outlook for high temperatures on Tuesday, Dec. 25th….not bitter cold, but temperatures not getting above freezing for much of the northeast.
