Sunspots

Here’s a photo taken through my 60mm (2.4 inch wide) refractor telescope of the sun today. Click to see the sunspots and some of the slightly brighter areas around them.

Sunspots

Camera and my eyes were protected by a solar filter from Kendrick. The Canon XS was set to a 1/200 second-long exposure, ISO 400.
The rough-looking edge of the Sun is due to turbulence in the atmosphere (or in the telescope).
